Happy Fathers Day !
I’m going to celebrate by running some trains.
Hope you all have a chance to do the same
Ralph
Ralph - just as soon as I’ve cleaned the three rifles and two revolvers I shot this morning, and got myself outside a litre of coffee, I’ll be joining you.
…and to MY dad, William John Valentine Foley, late of Dillon’s Cross, Cork, God Bless you and thank you for every day we had together.

Yup, I third the above emotions, Happy Father’s day to everyone who still has a father living!! Ralph still tryin to get out here and run some trains, but too hot until after 7pm here, and then storms set in so maybe yes, and maybe no on the runnin of the trains. I’m busy though last two days put up 18ft of cedar fencing cleaned two marine aquariums, helped the wife plant some veggies, so no evil will set in on idle hands here for sure!! My bones and aches and pains are telling me to take a day off so will do so today!! Hah LOL Regal
Few days pass when I don’t remember my late father at one time or another. Fathers Day is a newer celebration in the UK than that for Mothers but I am happy to say that all three of my grown up kids remembered the occasion.
No.2 son, who is here on holiday, cooked my breakfast albeit earlier than usual (6am) but it was welcomed none the less. No.1 son came later in the morning just after I arrived back from my church with a splendid bottle of sherry ( Spanish of course). My daughter came for the afternoon. So coupled with an afternoon of railroading I have had a great day.
My mom and dad came over for dinner yesterday. I went down and got dad, and mom came by later (she had been at a craft fair). Dad has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and is between mild and medium. He hasn’t been quite right for about 15 years, when he had some kind of mild stroke. Now its getting worse and worse. I know my time with ‘my dad’ is getting short, and I am spending as much time as I can with him.
My son, Will, is taking us all out for ice cream tonight. He turned 17 yesterday (he might make it to 18 if I don’t kill him first).
Happy Fathers Day to all who have earned the title. I haven’t run trains but Have gotten the first 37’ of track soldered in place now I’ll enjoy the US Open
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad’s, everywhere…
My dad passed a little over a year ago. He didn’t quite make 89. Thankfully he was generally healthy and alert until just a few months before he died. We didn’t spend as much time together as I wish we had due to him living 8 hours away and refusing to fully retire - he alwys had to go home after just a few days visit because of work. I didn’t complain because it kept him involved in the world.
Bob McCown said:If you are going to Kimball Farm (where else would you go?) don't order a large, unless it's for all three of you! I stopped there one evening during the Build-a-RR and, not knowing any better, ordered a large. I can eat a lot of ice cream, but had to give up after half :o

Edit: To say that for the first time in a number of years, both my kids remembered
6:30 been woken up by younger daughter, who shove a mug in my face, that says “youre the best daddy in the world”.
when i slept again, she put a phone to my ear with elder daughter on the line, who did greet me from 1000 miles away.
when i slept again, wife woke me up to remember me, that i wanted to see the soccer game of paraguay.
then sister in law invited us, for a father’s day lunch for her husband and me.
then they left me alone.
a nice day.
running trains? maybe in three years. but i got about three additional foot of benchwork built.
.
Happy Fathers day to everyone. I did not get to see much of my kids and wifeor my dad, had to work a 10 hour day. Im off the next two days. Glad to hear everyone else had a good one.

Happy Fathers Day guys!
Happy fathers day to everyone, was my first one and looking forward to many more.
Hope you guys had good ones! Instead of something totally useless, this year I got something useless, but really interesting… a 1915 catalog

I photographed it to share… http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/viewtopic.php?id=13234 I also got my soon to be 10YO daughter for a whole week!.. with only 2 days worth of clothes… Dya think that’s a hint that her momma wants us to buy her a summer wardrobe?
Mik got a whole book full of steamroller pics!
during the next year we will have at least a dozen new steam rollers in the modelling section…
My daughters 6 & 8 had all sorts fo plans for me…so off to church and an ice cream social there afterwards. then off to lunch and then we had a memorial for a long time Amaranth member who passed away on Thursday. then took the kids in the pool and then dinner. Spent the evening putting to gether my father-in-laws gift which he’ll get in a few weeks. Really not much time for me but that’s OK. It was a pretty good day anyway.

Korm, probably only one from this catalog. It’s going to take a LOT of custom work.
Sounds like a Happy Father’s Day was had by all. I had my parents over for dinner. I cheated, went to Boston Market and brought home a chicken dinner for 4. Everyone enjoyed it inside, too hot outside.
Dad’s 90, and he had to tell me he had a pipe leak in the basement, so he had to take down part of the ceiling. “Boy, that’s heavy when it’s wet!” He doesn’t want to call and bother me because I’m so busy, so he did it himself! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! At least he called a plumber to fix the pipe. I know they’re not going to be around forever, so I have to enjoy the agrivation while I can.
Spent some time with my dad also!
Got to go to were I wanted to go for dinner!
It gets better!
They got me a Tilley!

No trains though.
Good in all!

After Church, I took myself to Outback Steakhouse, then to the Botanic.

She didn’t speak English, but used the point and squeal technique to let us know what she liked; everything.
Ah, get those budding garden railroaders early!
