HAPPY EASTER THE REGAL

Over here in rural East Anglia, a place that makes Nebraska look like British Columbia, the wind bloo and the drizzle drizzed, but it didn’t stop us from running our little 7.25" gauge NG trains, nossiree.

There was an Easter Egg hunt for the many gibbies who turned up with their humans, and a great time was had by all, runny noses and frozen mitts included. At the same time we were boiler testing a half-scale traction engine that had just been re-tubed, and trying to keep heat in the unlagged boiler in the face of a 40mph easterly. We bravely sacrificed a few of our precious jackets to help it out, and it was successfully certified.

After today, I’m wondering if a few of US shouldn’t have been certified, too.

Earlier I had spent a happy two hours with bottle jacks and chocks replacing the three axles and side rods on my 1/3rd scale ‘Harlech Castle’ dismal [three wheel sets @40 pounds each - two side-rod sets in four pieces @ 32 pounds each set], just in time for the opening to the public, and I spent the afternoon getting some of the cricks out of my back, and trying, in vain, to repair some of the holes in my knuckles that were leaking quite fearsomely. Like Gordon [the society chairman] said at the time - ‘Well, you haven’t lost THAT much blood, I can see it all, right here on the footplate.’

I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

It’s ALL trains, ain’t it?

Happy Easter to all.

Thanks for the holiday wishes. The same for you and your families.

Had a house-full of family here with the 2.5 y.o. granddaughter (I don’t know what that is in metric ;)) on center stage. At least 100,000 calories on the table, with another 250,000 in baskets to take home. (My wife is into entertaining and the whole sha-bang.)

Happy Easter Monday all.

Happy Easter to everyone. Hope everyone enjoyed the day. It was cold and windy out this way but still enjoyed the Holiday and good food. Today back to the trains

Well, she’s 17.5 in dog years!

I had a nuclear-cooked chili pasta, ice cream and fresh pineapple with chocolate sprinkles.

mrs tac is yeb-sitting for the other grandparents who look after the grandyeb most of the time.

We had the same, but nobody took anything home. Wife served chicken tonight, she said we've eaten too much beef and pork. My thoughts (that shouldn't have been out loud) was that if God wanted us to eat that much chicken he would have made them as big as a cow. The eye socket will heal and the vision is coming back.

Just got back from a visit to my children in Wenatchee. My daughter’s 4 month old son was Baptized at the Easter Vigil Saturday night. My son’s daughter had her second birthday party Saturday afternoon. Cake at both events. My lovely bride took over my daughter’s kitchen Sunday morning and produced a wonderful breakfast, including Strawberry-apple pancakes, a big ham and all the trimmings.

Whew!

4 year old Grandson was proudly showing me his wooden Thomas the Tank train.

He will be here this weekend.

Easter is over!

I need to borrow that dog. Mine are getting fat and lazy and the rabbits are feasting on my plants

Solve your varmint problem: Here

I have several air rifles. Including a .22 Crossman. I’d rather spend the time working on my trains
The dogs must have read my post…found a mangled Turkey in the front yard this morning

I have a neutered 14 pound dog.

He acts like he’s been neutered too, (Damn, I wish i could make a political joke here). So I take care of the tree-rats and long-eared rodents myself.
