Large Scale Central

Had it

Yup, never been beat… Looks like it aint going to steam again. The NRM say that a rebuid would take away too much of the original. laughable when you consider its present boiler is from a dead loco and how many bits of it are “original”?

I will regret it if you’re not posting any more, but for completely different reasons than the other folks who have ventured opinions on the matter.

Re the specific issues that concern you I have no comment. I don’t own any Bachmann equipment. I have enough politics whizzing around my ears at work without getting involved in the politics of G Scale Trains. I’m not qualified to venture an informed opinion about the issues you’re having.

I’d regret your departure because, in the limited correspondence we’ve exchanged via forums, I’ve formed the opinion you’re a person who’s prepared to argue a position he believes in and a person worth listening to. You were wrong about Trainworld (it wasn’t “worker bees”, but one of the owners, who was insisting credit card details be sent via eMail). You were correct about “forgive but don’t forget” - I accept the “don’t forget” piece is just as important as the “forgive”.

Forums like these aren’t just about trains, any more than you and I are just about trains. I appreciate people like you and Ric Golding because your posts often lead to discussions that are worth having. For example, if I see a topic about “illegals”, it brings to mind the names and faces of many good people from Latin America and Eastern Europe. That’s a topic worth reading and responding to.

Best wishes for a great 2008!
