We had a little snow this morning which has been rather rare this winter so I just had to run the new rotary. I built it this Fall in anticipation of a pile of snow this winter and we have got maybe 4-5 inches total of unplowable snow so far. Last year we had a few feet of snow over the winter. This mornings snow was wet and heavy and didn’t blow very well but it was still a decent test of the rotary. At the end of the video I made snow cones for the deserving crew who braved the cold to make this video for all to enjoy.

The rotary is made from a USAT bunk or kitchen car. I wanted a good wide cut so I used a 5" metal vacuum blade. Since shrouds for a 5" blade are rare I made my own from wood and the bottom of a flower pot. The cupola comes from a LGB caboose. The side panels from window blinds and the flange from a piece of PVC. The power is from a old 12volt drill and runs through a DPDT switch so I can change direction on the rotary.
