Yes, swapping two wires is minor meatball surgery – IF you know how and are willing to tear into a new loco and basically void the warantee. But just how much does those DPDT micro switches like they put in the bug maulers cost wholesale, anyway? About 30c each? Dang, that would have forced them to make the street price $49 more expensive, right?

Sometimes I wonder if the manufacturers have baboons giving the final OK to some of these decisions.

It only proves that they lack the QC. More of a reason why they need it. Thats why I will not by a Bachmann engine like the new forney and others. Especially at the prices they are going for. The only reason why I bought thomas was for the my kids and I dont plan on running it with other engines etc…
