Very nice Jake. Thanks for sharing your build.
Here is the latest. I’m almost done. I have to install a corrogated tin roof (which means I have to drink more pop) and finish the dock and front porch.

I figured out if I buy the Bud Light Cheilata (sp?) and drink that, I can get more than one scale 4 x 8 piece of tin roofing out of the can. I also saw that Fosters makes their can’s oversized. I might have a few fun nights a head of me.
That is awsome!
I guess I have been lacking in this build. Sorry about that, its been a busy summer.

This is a picture of the building in place. My first one on the railroad, yay!!!
The changes from the last photos are it has a roof on it. That was built using the same material I used on the walls as a base. I then used the paper crimper and pop can technique to get the roofing material. I installed two magnetic cabinet latches to the roof and walls to allow for the roof to be removable. The magnets are pretty strong and I’ve already had a pretty bad storm go through and it couldn’t blow the roof off.
You can also see the water wheel placed in the water. I used that stone tile I had talked about earlier in this build, for the walls. I made a shell of the tile and then poured cement into the cavity so the wheel supports are solid.

This from the other side. You can see the water wheel better. I still need to build up around the water wheel to cover the gap between the wheel wall and the building. I’ll probably use some more of that tile. I also need to detail around the building with people and clutter.
Here is a short video of the water wheel working"

Hope you like it…
Guess the snow and cold finally left your area. Looks good.
Now that’s kewl!!
Very nice. Great work. I even learned a few things.
Great looking mill! It fits well in its setting.
The video is terrific with the under shot wheel turning.
Damn nice work Jake!
I love the skewed stone section

Ha ha, yeah its been in the lower 90s for the last week. I’ve been camping with the family a lot which is why the railroad hasn’t seen much progress.
Wonderful Job on the Mill…
Agreed, It came out really well. Nice work.
Nick
Really nice Jake. And looks to really fit the location.
Beautiful!
Sweet !!
Only one thing I can think of that is missing.
Does anyone have a sound recording of a prototype mill in action?
Sincerely,
Joe Satnik
I’m going to call this project “done.” Sort of, that’s why you see the quotes. I’m going to detail around the Mill with people and stuff, but I’m going to wait on that until I get some other buildings done first. On the bench is a depot/freight house and a bank. Here is the final pictures of the building in place.

Its been a fun project and as I stated before. My first attempt at a scratch build project. It has given me the confidence to tackle more complex projects, as my depot is, without fear.
That turned out great. I like the undershoot wheel and it should be a great switching location. That’s a LOT of water you have in that stream.
Will it have a name? Looks like you have plenty of room for a sign.
Yeah good point Bruce. I definitely need a sign on that one side. I haven’t thought of a name yet…any ideas?
The pump I have feeding the stream is 4000 gph pump so it puts out a lot of water.
I like it, especially the stream. I think that you have captured reality quite nicely.
