not about fragile detail, not about sliders…i took the chessie u25b off the track to have my USA Trains BNSF GP38 pull the load awhile…ran all of 45 seconds and then the squeaking!!! jeesh!!! those damn axels go into the sideframes and it is the axel rubbing the brass ‘journals’…very annoying and basically an ongoing project just to keep the axel ends lubed…the one nice thing about the aristo motor blocks are that the axels do not go into the sideframe journals (later production models anyway)…i lubed the blocks once and that is it…still quiet and smooth operation…the USAT is still smooth, just not quiet…
