Great Way to End 2006 - Snowplowing!

After a surprise snowstorm, I took my FA and FB-RC/Battery locos outside and used them to snowplow the HedgeApple RioGram Garden Railway. The snow wansn’t powder, like I prefer for plowing, but the urge to get out and play on the last day of the year was too great. YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5zDiF1H2c4 for snowplowing video - “Great Way to End 2006 - Snowplowing” Vinita township is burried almost as bad as the towns of Western Kansas.

Switching onto the mainline.

Plowing the new elevated line, that replaced the old “Wida’maker Curve.”

Over the “HedgeApple Gulch” trestle.

Through the “Giant Sequoias.”

The Engineers finally have the lines cleared and stop at the Station for Coffee and Donuts before hooking up the passenger cars and getting back on schedule.

Sadly, I didn’t get a still picture of the train going through the new tunnel because the camera batteries decided to die first. [And I froze out.] The tunnel is in the video. HAPPY NEW YEAR to Everyone !!! [:D] JimC.

Jim,

Thanks for sharing. Great film! I couldn’t figure out who’s railroad, at first (putting name with layout), but then I saw your tunnel and I knew who owned this. Of course afterwards, I read your write up and saw the other pictures. You’ve really made great progress. Good way to end the year.

Wow, that looks terrific! Really looks beautiful with all that snow.

Better you than me, Jim. We’re gettin rain, but the snow shots look great as long as it stays out there…
