Even though ol’ Georg wrote “The Messiah” for Easter, it is most often preformed at Christmas. Go figure.
But who cares. It could be preformed at Samhain (Gaelic Harvest Festival celebrated Oct 31 - Nov 1, co-opted by Christians as All Hallows Eve (Hallo’een and All Saints Day) and it would still have the same power and magisty.
Just ‘Messiah’. No ‘The’.
Best to you and all the Featherkiles this festive time of year!

This was very cool. A little culture goes a long way
I forgot to thank Ken for passing it along.

Well, that one had a bit of nostalgia attached to it. When we were kids our parents used to take us into Center City Philly by train at Christmas and visit all the old Department stores along Market St. Wanamaker’s (Macy’s) was always the favorite with that organ (the largest pipe organ in the US, or possibly the world, BTW) and the light and fountain show they had. I’ve stood next to that eagle many times listening to it. Brought back some pleasant memories…
I can now add the Silent Monks version as another favorite! That was well done.
Stirring!
You heard of the one in California that caused the mall to be evacuated? Apparently, 5,000 was too big a group.
Wonder how long it’ll be before the ACLU steps in to stop it.
