Any body else notice Ken’s picture in the newest GR? Doug Matheson did a little write up on the “American Invasion” and to add proof it has happened, he included a picture of Ken. Congrats Ken.
My subscription just ran out
Ralph
Gee yet another reason I need to find this issue…
Yep …I just got it yesterday…
Nice article in there on making standing seam metal roofs as well Bart…
Yeah that was the other reason…
Just got my MR yesterday. What page is it on in?
Well Noel, that was the tease to get you to look for it. Its the Garden Railways, not MR. But as a hint, its across from the bottom of page 24. When I looked at it again, I guess you do have to know that profile and that railroad for it to jump out at you.
Seeing it is sorta like seeing our picture in all the issues advertising the ECLSTS. Page 68, middle picture of the 3 pictures below the “Open to the Public” insert sign. Bring your copy to the Alcove and I’ll sign it for you, but that comes with the warning that it does devalue its collectability. You can probably get Ken’s also, but don’t leave it laying around, you won’t believe what Rooster will do with it.
yea, thanks to Doug now all the world knows who to blame for that…
After I saw it, I had to go back to the front cover and make sure it was Garden Railroad. I thought I was reading my daughters Strawberry Shortcake book

Ah, the price of being famous.

I thought you only did that after mommy tucked you in
Doesn’t say much about it.
Garden Railroad Magazine, according to Doug Matheson, is not in any way interested in anything except GARDEN railroads. The IPP&W is not a GARDEN railroad, and has never been described as such.
The IPP&W is an OPERATING, model railroad, that happens to be out of doors, partly in a garden setting. We do not do “Roundy-roundies”…we have weekly operating sessions, using the RailOp program.
Although some people have found some good photo opportunities on the pike, it is not intended to appear in any publications, of “Beautiful/Great” Garden railroads…it was built to OPERATE, with as little frustration, from derailments, as possible…and no track power to prevent good control of our locomotives through wiring, or dirty track issues.
We welcome visitors, who ask for an invitation, but do not advertise our existence, except by word of mouth, or our web page…we have more than enough people who join us for every operation, as it is.
The annual “Invasion” developed when some of our great friends from "South, East, and West of us, wanted to visit, and it has grown over the years. It is our social, and operating highlight of the year. The whole gang here, are thankful for the great group of FRIENDS, we have met over the years, who share this great hobby with us.
Fred
Well said Fred, but your Lilies are award winning. And let’s not forget Peter’s Pond. Holy water is a wonderful fertilizer, if applied correctly.
Ahhh, Ric…so it’s you, who has been “Helping” the Lillies along, over the years…I’ll tell Peter that you have the secret to good healthy Lillies…!!
…he will appreciate it…and most years the fish seem to thrive too…must be protein in that there water…!!! (Processed holy water, is it ?..!!!)
Speaking of the fish…the frost went deep this year, so I’m not holding my breath, as to their survival…but we shall see after the melt, which it seems, is to start tomorrow. They are calling for highs, of over +3C each day for over a week, and lows just a tad under 0C each night.
Great temperatures for the Maple syrup harvest…may be a bumper year…but don’t look for the inflated prices to do anything but go up, even with a great harvest.
Fred, I plead innocent. As I said, correctly applied. I was thinking it was some of the “full moon ritual”?
