Are the air intakes extended out and covered for snow or is there another reason?

I took full advantage of the nice weather, and was able to get the stripes roughed in on the opposite side, and got the bases painted and reflective stripes applied.
The 4808 and 9671 have medium sized fuel tanks which I made with SD45 tanks. The 9410 and 9548 have the full size tanks, but I modified them to give them better looking depth in front of the air reservoirs.
Now the last two days, I’ve been starting work on the wiring, and programming the RailPro modules.
With the cooler weather returning, I’ll be able to work on the zebra weathering, and maybe get the electrical complete.

I always have to wonder, do you store your locos under a plex cover of some sort? And is your train storage room really that big??

Thanks Cliff. Everything is stored in the basement which is a real pain. Maybe someday I’ll build some outdoor storage.

This is currently my issue. Most of my big stuff (mainly Amtrak) is working on 10yrs + and tried of carrying them in and out. The 3’ long stuff is awesome but storage is an issue especially when you have ABD disorder (amtrak, building, disorder). However I have been medicated for this with beer and age so now it’s time for reality which is slowing on building with a focus on playing. Definitely would run way more if I could just throw a switch and run them out of a 5x50 shed.
I’m certainly the same Rooster. I’m thinking about extending my fence up the side of the house so that I could have a few storage tracks for quick running.
Thanks Sean. I’m getting close. I still have an IC SD70, an SD38-2, and an SW1200RS on the workbench. Then after that, maybe I can focus on finishing the layout.
