Are the air intakes extended out and covered for snow or is there another reason?

I took full advantage of the nice weather, and was able to get the stripes roughed in on the opposite side, and got the bases painted and reflective stripes applied.
The 4808 and 9671 have medium sized fuel tanks which I made with SD45 tanks. The 9410 and 9548 have the full size tanks, but I modified them to give them better looking depth in front of the air reservoirs.
Now the last two days, I’ve been starting work on the wiring, and programming the RailPro modules.
With the cooler weather returning, I’ll be able to work on the zebra weathering, and maybe get the electrical complete.
