Gotta love those enthusiastic grandkids around your trains

I’m looking for the bell off a Lionel Atlantic. The one I had did not survive the last encounter with an exuberant 2.5 year old.

A small price to pay for creating another train geek.

If you have one in your parts box and are willing to part with it, please contact me to arrange exchange of funds and bell.

Thanks.

It will eventualy pass and come out. Have Mom look for it.

Oops!

I’ve twice had a part come off that way. Parents were shocked, but I said, “It wasn’t supposed to come off that easily. It’ll just take a dab of glue.”

The ladder on the back of Madam Mallet’s tender is now soldered brass 'cause the top of the original came off in a toddler’s hand.

No, you misunderstand. It is in pieces, with part of the harp still mounted on the locomotive.

One needs to watch the little ones very close! But they sometimes grow up to love trains as we do! Paul

Mine like to put rocks on the track to de-rail them.

The solution is having a ‘beater’ to run when little 'uns are around… A Stainz is perfect. A Hartland Mack is a close second

Had a great day of running trains yesterday at our house. It was our clubs September meet. It’s funny you mention grandkids, my daughter’s two boys came over while everything was going on. They both like trains, but after about 30 minutes I asked my wife what happened to the boys. She said Anthony (10 year old) was in time out for derailing a friend shay by flipping the switch lever and Jaykob (7 year old) was in time out for throwing rocks. I guess kids will be kids.

Did you ever get a bell Steve?

If not, email me [email protected]
