I am looking for 2 of the golden trim rings that fit the Lanterns on the Stainz locomotive. My starter set Stainz doesnt have them but I really like how they look and dress it up. I know some guys remove the gold rims as they think its to “flashy”. I havent seen any of the right size on fleabay, just the smaller ones that fit the lights on the 2080 ect. Thanks in advance. Keep watching the Bay and I think they will turn up. There is a guy on there that likes to hack up LGB stuff and he sell the bits. Sounds like a chop shop to me but I did just buy 2 headlights from him for my rotary. He can be a bit expensive but if you really need a weird piece…
For me part of the fun of model RR is when you stumble across something you have been looking for for years. Imagine if you had allt he money in the world would you care adn be thrilled to find a bargain? At least it isn’t a neccesary part and you can have fun until you find it.
Many of the parts sold on E-bay come from Train-Li and several other parts suppliers or from items ‘parted’ out.
Call Train-li and see if they are in stock. And many LGB parts came in gold/brass, silver and black colors.
