Glut glut…
Actually that should have been glug glug. Couldn’t see it on the iPad!
Construction began today on the third level of the gold mill. It will be the largest structure in the mill because that is where the track enters the building. When the siding is complete the ore train will have a destination!
Doug, I am making an attempt. This will be covered with soda cans… need to work on windows etc… and a roof too.

Looking good.
I started on the metal siding of the third level yesterday. I still have a lot of diet Dr. Pepper to drink!
I had to special order the galvanized paint for the siding but it’s at the store now! I panicked when I went to the local hardware store and they didn’t stock it anymore!
I was sure happy when I saw it on Rustoleum’s website!
Doug,
if you dont like so much Dr Peppers, try to use the alu-foil bakingforms.
at least, where you have a solid surface beneath, to glue it to.
easy to crimp, avayable without vomiting, you see, there are advantages.
Thanks, I will try those.
I do like the diet Dr. Pepper. I have about two cases tp go!
But I will try the baking pans for some other projects.
With all that soda your drinking instead of Glug Glug, shouldnt that be

Look forward to new pics
Nah. Remember when it was rumored Dr. Pepper was made with prunes? I wonder if it was true?
Doug Arnold said:I love Dr. Pepper even as a kid sixty years ago! But it does have a tendency to act like a laxative.....way too much information!:)

BTW, I was up near your place on Sunday. Had to go up to Wrightwood to check on the cabin. Getting it cleaned and a little repair for a new tenant. Beautiful weather!
I think fall has arrived on the desert.
The gold mill is getting close enough to being ready for the layout so I need to get the “mountain” done so I have a place to put it!
Rain this week, did you enjoy your two days of Fall?
Nah. The chance of rain is drying up!
I dunno about that, we now kinda skip that whole fall thingy and dive right into winter…remember the SWGRS is three weeks away and last year’s was during one of the worst winter storms I can remember, I drove thru 3 inches of hail on the ground going home that Sunday. Sure hope that don’t happen again this year.
Doug - I’m thinking of adding another structure with a sloped roof off the taller building. to add something more to this. Also I am working on the support structure to place this whole mess about 9 inches or so off the ground. What do you plan to put on the roof?
As for the weather, right now we are looking for the bulk of the storm to arrive Wed afternoon through Thurs with maybe an inch in the typical locations and of course the possibility of snow about 7000 feet. Of course this leads folks to think that fire season is over. One “Santa Ana” Foehn wind event will dry out the one hour fuels in a snap.
Doug, need a photo update from you. I did add another section, not sure where I will stop.

We’ll let you know…

That complex is looking good. These mill complexes are fun. They just seem to grow by themselves!
Yep, another complex that just grows and grows! Your ladders make me think of Calico, which is an old mine town less than 2 hours from us. When the miners went to work in the morning they had to climb a ladder. I believe it was 150 feet!
It must have really been fun when we had our desert winds!
Not mine, that mine, Doug… posted here to tease John Miller… I found it online somewhere several years ago… in my files it’s called Hedley FWIW, maybe searchable… BTW not large scale, either, methinks.
