Gold Mill

This gold mill in Colorado will be the insporation of an ore prossing mill for my layout.

Wow. I’d love to do one like that … but the top of it would be in the middle of the living room!

I like it, but watch out mills can get real big fast just like the real deal they can sprawl and ruin the landscape.
I built one a few years back and it is BIG at 4’ high 4’ wide and 7’ long. Installed it has become a real focal point for my layout. and visitors really like it plus it spawned 2 industries for the RR.
I did mine freelance from old photos and was real selective as to what went into it to try and capture the feel of a mine, processing plant and 2 track loader.
Yours would be a really neat build so keep us posted if you decide to do it.
Todd

For the main building I figure 20 inches wide and 10 inches deep. That’s the first two levels and the third will be larger in width to fit 1:24 mine cars.It has it’s own siding which has a switchback.

And you are right about size. It seems to grow all by itself!

Problem?

Doug, nice prototype! Even compressed it should look really good.

John, WOW!!! That is beautiful, and the size makes it even more impressive.

Holy Moly, John, ya could see that baby from the international space station! Talk about large scale. Beautiful work, though, just like Mr Dunakin says.
