Good beer and some plastic wheels to replace.
Well, crap. Wrong wheels. The bearing caps won’t fit.
Oh well, the beer was good.
That is the way to look on the bright side.
Maybe you just need more beer, then the wheels will look better. Sorry Matt I just couldn’t help myself.
One of the guys in our club had to have the metal wheels he bought turned down so they would fit the Aristo Craft roller bearing trucks. I hope you can find a cheaper solution.
Chuck
I did one for this member by simply filing down the plastic bushing on the inside of the trucks. I guess he wanted to spend money.
If this is an Aristo car with “roller bearings”, it could have brass bushings.
Do beer goggles work on journal boxes?
Matt, I hope you weren’t really expecting anyone to help…
If Matt didn’t live so far away from me, I would be willing to help. But he is more then a few hour’s drive away from me.
lol. I have a feeling if we were all closer together, nothing would get done.
The problem I had was that the bearing caps wouldn’t fit. The axles are too small.
Greg, that’s the same setup my box car has. I talked with Robby and he said the wheels I bought fit aristo cars, except the evans box car and their 100 ton hoppers. Oh well. He’s letting me return them.

Matt, either nothing would get done, or more would get done. Or, there would be alternating spells of nothing and a lot getting done.
Yes, when I had to upgrade the wheels on an Aristo 100 ton hopper, I had to find the special Aristo wheels to do the upgrade. They were the same part number as the standard Aristo wheels, but with an added “D” at the end of the part number. The guy at the booth asked me twice if I was sure those where the wheels I needed.
I saw where Polks had the roller bearing trucks with metal wheels, but I think they have since sold out of them.
