Getting Ready to Travel

York is coming up. Time to start packing. So how do we remember to bring everything we need? A number of years ago we started a “Timesaver Travel List”. It’s just a check list that we get out ahead of a show or event and use to try and start getting organized. There is a master list of things that are needed to be gathered and there is always more on that list than we take, plus stuff that needs to be added. We keep a file of the old lists and update the online file after each trip or event.

We start traveling in 10 days, so printed this off this morning and started making stacks of what should go and what needs to be worked on before we get underway.

Heck, there’s always stores. (That’s what I tell my wife when I pack for traveling.)

First thing we do when approaching a new venue or town is ask “Where’s the WalMart?”

That’s a big event for the women who go along for the ride, making the trip across the river to the tourist mecca in these parts. Lancaster County, Pa. where all the outlets stores are and the locals avoid at all costs…

As for me, my list includes: ME My wallet

I like to travel light.
My brother, on the other hand, will spend 30 minutes loading my trunk for a day trip.
And then never use a single piece of the “gear” he has drug along.

Does York even have a walmart???

I only knew 3 places in York, till last year…

  1. the Farigrounds

  2. the Starlight Diner

  3. THe Holiday Inn Holidome

and, on the last trip, 4) a craft store…

And this year, we are staying at the Holiday Express…
I’m so excited, a new place… Be still my heart…

The CCCTGG will be staying at the HI Express as well. I should have the 1st case of Yeungling ready around 4PM on Wednesday.

There may be a truck stop on the other side of Lancaster that might sell something that resembles a Haystack for breakfast, but don’t quote me on that…

Ken, it’s York and trains…

Haystacks are a long ways down on the list…
