This evening’s TV news reports that California State Controller John Chiang, the author of the IOUs for tax refunds concept, is in the middle of purchasing $2 million worth of new furniture for his Sacramento office.

Controller Chiang was too busy mismanaging the finances of the State and Citizens of California to do an interview himself, but his (no doubt very well paid) spokeswoman claims the previous controller committed to purchase $7 million in office furniture, but Mr. Chiang has been able to reduce this purchase by $4 million. The actual language she used was that Mr. Chiang is now “Saving the state money!”

Let’s see:
7-4=3, not 2.

That means the amount this scoundrel is spending on his own vanity went up by $1 million between the time the report was first written and the time his spokeswoman lied to the reporter on the air.

Mr. Chiang and his hirelings must be good at something, but it doesn’t appear to be accounting or lying!!

Happy RRing,

Jerry

And they’re not even Illinois politicians. Proud of them!

Let’s see:
You seriously expect a person who proposes IOUs for tax refunds to be able to do simple arithmetic? Mmmm!

Don’t buy anything. What are they going to do. Sue you? Hell you don’t have any money for them to get.

Maybe he can send them a IOU for the office furniture and send the Tax payers the 7 million in refunds.

It’s very easy to spend other people’s money. Give me YOUR checkbook, I’ll show you.

I am reminded of the comment made by Mr David Crockett.

I’m sure I don’t need to remind the Americans on this board what he said.
