I remember we got AC to ditch the toy train wording on there web site several years ago. Later RJD
Yes, we tried with Aristo-Craft, and I think the consensus of the people on the forum was it was sort of demeaning, but it was still on the site I think, under the RMT stuff at least.
Now, we are not dealing with Aristo-Craft, but GenerationNext, and not with Lewis, but with Scott.
Clearly it appears to him that the “Toy Train” moniker has some value. I personally think it lessens the perceived quality of his products, but heck, what do I know.

Well toy trains to me tells me I do not to go that route. Maybe they will change it also. I hardly think he is after 5 year old kids. Later RJD
Big Boy Toys … 55 year olds…
Until we get parts for our models, they’re just toys.
I hang around with children my own age…
…I avoid young goats…!!
This same debate comes up when ever Model railroaders get together, they lament people thinking they “play” with “toy trains”. The term doesn’t bother me. If you are afraid that people will think less of you if they think you play with toys, well … I say, let 'em think what they want. I’m not concerned with what they think.
I’m also into 1:6th scale WWII figures and vehicle modeling, and the term “playing with dollies” come up from time to time. I think “Toy Trains” beats “Dollies” every time!
I tend to get along well with children. Probably because I am at the same point of my emotional and social development as they are.
The only thing I have to “bash” is that there’s no such word as “GenerartioNext,” and there seems to be no way on this Board to correct spelling errors. If there were, all those “it’s” “its” errors would be fixed.
Stay Calm and keep bailing!
So what’s the big discussion? If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, chances are it’s a duck.
In other words it’s all about how well one sees and hears, isn’t it? And … if one came across fowl that someone else called a duck.
As he ducks and gets back to spiking.
snicker
Nothing changes.

I agree that “toy trains” is demeaning.
Good to see that Dave still has his sense of humour…!!!
Dick, I have a spell check integrated into the browser I use.
Are you referring to a spell check enforced by the forum software itself? Hoo boy would that piss a lot of people off…
Greg
Wish there were something to check context
substituting the correct variant of to,two and too
seems to be a challenge

Sense of humour is like knowledge, it has staying power.
