Gauge 1 Meet this afternoon

Well, off to my first official G1 meet this afternoon - it’s raining, but then it mostly is here in East Anglia, and there is a strong east wind…but then etc…

I’ll be taking my Aster Br01 Pacific along, and hoping for not too many sniffs of derision, after all, it IS 25 years old, even though it looks like new. This is due to having been kept in a glass box since the day it was bought, until I bought it last year and, helped by Geoff Calver, fired it up for the very first time.

Regardless, I’ll watch and learn, prolly a lot, from watching the REAL experts in G1 doing their thing, and pick up some tints and hips to make my next visit one that is less of a trial.

I’ll put a couple of movies on YOUTUBE later, if the rain clears up enough - look for them under TACTRAINS.

Catch ya later.

Of course - I even had stale buns thrown at me. But it was worth it. Not every day you see a loco resurrected from a glass box and made to live the way it was meant to.

It ran for 65 minutes, BTW, before I got totally dizzy and fell over…
