Anybody replaced the USAT wheels on their Geeps with the Gary Raymond ones. Which ones did you use, and what issues did you find.

Is Gary Raymond now making geared wheelsets for Geeps?
Are you sure you don’t mean the NW Shortline ones?
John,
Tony’s right. Raymond doesn’t make driving wheels for locos.
Jens Bang replaced his USA Geeps with Northwest Shortlines, and found they lowered the loco a little too much to pass thru LGB switches. They do all-right on his layout, because all his switches are hand built.

LOWERED?
Unless they came out with smaller sets since the last ones I did, the two sizes are both BIGGER, requiring trimming of the brake shoes!
Thats is what I want bigger, more scale wheels, while still having a large flange.

C’mon, Mike, you can do better than THAT!
I’d have to look at my old catalogs, but they make 40" with NO flanges, and 36" with decent flanges.
The 36" are substantially bigger than stock.
Dave ,
Even I could not understand what I wrote , so I gave up .

Unless you are a master at laying perfect track outside be sure to get the NWSL wheels with the larger flanges. The scale flanges can be a nightmare if there is even a slight imperfection in your track.
