Garden Railways magazine forum?

Is anyone else a member at the garden railways magazine forum?

I have been for years but now I can’t get in to it. I tried old login and passwords and even tried to recover the password. They sent me one that doesn’t work?

I then created another profile and still couldn’t get in?

What a pain. I keep getting a message that passwords are case sensitive. I have tried all combinations at this point.

I am a current subscriber to the magazine.

Is anyone else having problems getting in?

UGH ! after much frustration I figured it out. I was trying to enter the info in the regular sign spot but I had to click on the link they sent with the temporary password and enter that there then I was able to get in. Now to figure out why I can’t reply to a post when I click on reply?

Works for me and in the first post they talk about you Todd!(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I haven’t been there in a couple years…but I just tried to log-in…worked fine, no problems.

Yes Rene emailed a few weeks back in case I wanted to respond. I tried to get on then and couldn’t. tried again this morning and still couldn’t but I have now figured out how to log in but I still can’t respond to the question for some reason?

Try a different browser

So is it the magazine on-line ? Can you read all of the articles that are in the paper version ?

I did try a different browser and still no luck but then noticed on the site that before responding I had to create a screen name. I did that then when I hit the respond button it did open up a window.

I don’t know why they have to make it so hard. Security? -Removed political drivel-

mostly no, and no.

The magazine has a website, and it has a discussion forum.

Some of the magazine articles are on the website, and if you subscribe to the magazine you can log-in and get some subscriber extras…but the whole magazine is not online.

The website is pretty lame.

I removed the political &#*^$ at the end of this post. Everyone should know by now that I have NO TOLERANCE for it, at all. Perma-ban offense.

So Todd is permanently banned?

Todd was on last night, when I read Bob’s post. We will know for sure if Bob replaces Todd’s avatar with

I have been subscribed to the Garden Railways Forum (and it follows their others I suppose) for ten years. Only once have I ever had issues when signing in and that was after their major software update. I am not a prolific poster however.

Personally I do not find GR and its Forum of great interest now, what I do find interesting is Classic Trains - for info and pics of the transition period, also Garden Railroader which has a ‘any scale’ thread entitled 'prototype information for the modeler. Being in the UK both these places have been of help in how I operate and a degree of authenticity.

However, I am aware that their is, as it is said, a protype for everything, railroad rolling stock does rock often when on the move, and of course the 10ft. rule. Few visitors know much, if anything, about American railroads so I could get away with anything, but I d prefer to try for some accuracy. He’s not banned, but he’s now tagged. I have NO PATIENCE for this stuff. I cant even go buy a cup of coffee without hearing some ranting yelling about one or the other candidate. I get dozens of emails a day forwarded to me by ‘helpful’ friends, full of unsubstantiated, paranoid stupidity that is easily debunked. I dont want ANY of that here.

Yes Bob. Thank you.

Not banned just warned. I made a silly joke about one of the candidates and as innocent as it was Bob was right to shut it down.

This is a train forum and trains are fun and we need to keep it that way.

Once upon a time the GR forum was as busy as here and MLS, but two things changed, one was a format change that was supposed to be an improvement but it just made things worse, it’s still a pita to use, most of the time I cannot add pics or even use the standard reply window, only the quick reply window, so it’s extremely frustrating using it.

The other thing was several people were banned from it for various reasons, mostly person attacks, both happened about the same time and it never recovered.
