Large Scale Central

Garden Metal Models

Just saw this on the BTL:

Sykesville, MD — Garden Metal Models, a small independent Large Scale manufacturer, released the following statement earlier this week:

Notice to our valued dealers and customers from Garden Metal Models, Inc.
Effective May 31st 2011, we will no longer be able to supply our dealers and will only be able to sell direct until our existing stock on hand is gone. We are issuing this notice with great sadness and regret. We have delayed it as long as possible with hopes of resolving circumstances beyond
our control. The issues we are facing encompass tooling and fabrication facilities. We have been and continue to do everything possible to return to production as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and welcome good
wishes for success in overcoming our difficulties.

Dang, that’s a shame…

Pardon my ignorance, but what is BTL?

Not good news. I hope they can survive. I never bought anything from them but have admired their products since they arrived on the scene.

This is sad news. I have purchased their products. This crap economy is really taking its toll!

Sounds like they either lost their shop, or maybe the shop doing the work for them.
Let’s hope the situation is only temporary.

There product is manufactured in the same factory that Aristo-Craft products are made in. With the current problems at that factory trying to get back on track they have dumped a lot of smaller dealers and only kept the large ones.

Garden Metal Models is one of my suppliers, I hope they can come through this, they have a great product at a reasonable price.

Gary, You've got that right. We should never forget the decisions that are made, impact many people for a long time.

I haven’t purchased their product either, but it’s still a shame to lose a quality product whatever the reason.

A real shame, I am looking out off my porch at one of their bridges, it is doing quite well in my humid woods…
