G scale motorized track cleaner

Hi all,

I’m UK based but (loosely) model the ET&WNC. I am looking for a motorised track cleaning vehicle, or non-motorized if it does a good job. In the UK most people tend to recommend the LGB loco, but being of European outline I don’t want to go down that route. Are there any US outline vehicles that are up to the job? Ideally I’d prefer to avoid diesel (so would probably end up having to be a wagon) but would consider if that’s the best option.

just get a track cleaning caboose from Al Kramer on Ebay they do a good job, and have replaceable cleaning pads!

Hi Colin
I have both the LGB loco and a Aristocraft track cleaning car. I have found that if I run the aristo car for about 10 minutes each time I run my trains that the track stay in realy good shape. I only need to run the loco if I go more then a week with out running trains. Now this is during the summer time so I realy can’t give you information on winter. Other then at christams time the trains are put away for the winter. San Val Hobbies also make a track clearn that you can fit under a rail car you already have. You can find them on E-bay most of the time, and from what I have read they do a good job as well. Also, I use a dry wall sander to clean up spot areas. Works great and I don’t have to bend over. Hope this helps out. and welcome to LSC.
