“RailBoss R/C” utilizes the low cost 2-channel 75 MHZ AM hobby radios available at your local hobby shop for under $50 (1 Transmitter, 1 Receiver). The RailBoss control board will provide all of the expected speed control functions (variable accel rates, forward reverse with safety lockout, fast decel for emergency stops without damage to gears), and then some. Automated station stops and back 'n forth trolley operation can be enabled or disabled at will from the transmitter. The best of both worlds: manual control when you want it, automated operations to just watch trains or simplify operations during an open house. Also features a full 5 amp motor driver and 8-30 VDC power input.
Del, will it work with track power, or battery only?
It is designed for battery power, but with the addition of a full-wave bridge rectifier (and perhaps a large capacitor) it would work with a constant track power of about 9 to 30 volts. I haven’t tested it, but I do have a few Critter Control customers that run from constant track power.
So when do the details appear on your website?
Nick
Hey - At least somebody is looking! Everything is ready to go except for the manual (which I am working on right now) and the website update. I hope to have that completed in the next day or two. Boards are built and ready to ship.
Looking forward to seeing your RC speed control Del. I’ll be checking your site for the update.

agreed…I looked after the info was posted here and didn’t find anything. Why post the info if its not available.?
When I want to follow up on info its a real bad idea to not have it where its said to be. I may not look for it again.
Del, can you give a link to an example of what you are talking about in the 75mHz RC tx/rx, I trieda google but got stuff all over the spectrum. It will keep me busy until your website is updated… Nick
Nick Kelsey said:My apologizes for starting this post without adequate information to back it up. That's not usually the way I operate. I was over optimistic of the completion date of my documentation.

Here is a link showing you exactly what kind of transmitter I’m talking about http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGRM7**&P=7
I got one of those. Does frequency matter if I have the matching RX?
Jon Radder said:It does not, as long as it is a legal FCC surface frequency: 27 MHZ or 75 MHZ. If you have 72 MHZ, it is allowable for use with model aircraft only. You can use any surface legal R/C system made, as long as it has at least 2 channels of "digital proportional" outputs, normally used to drive analog servos. And it should be of the stick variety as opposed to the pistol grip models used for R/C cars.

Thanks Del -
I look forward to the details.
The complete operation & installation manual is now available as a link on the homepage: www.GScaleGraphics.net
