Funny how places get names!

The new B&M RDC-3 pulls into the station @ SEANVILLE ! How did he name that you wonder. After the wife and daughter watched this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-PyFAfA7JI It is all about having fun!! Sean

So Sean, did the name come before or after you had that “Bud Light”.

Some how it just doesn’t with my name. “Ralphville” or the “Town of Ralph”…both pretty wretched

But if it did some day come about, “Ralphville” would have to have a distillery
Ralph

Ralphsburg ?

I think I’d just call such a burg “Berg”!

Ralpf’s Pass - Ralphston … there would be many possibilities (specially, if you use the 's )

I considered naming a station “Road Narrows” as there seems to be a town by that name in most of the states I’ve been to, at least according to the signs.

Driving into Maine on I-95, there’s a sign for “Cat Mousam Road” … and in the town to the north of my hometown, there’s a “Roast Meat Hill Road” and a “Skunk Misery Rd” (legend on the former is a barn full of cows struck by lightning around the turn of the (last) century…)

There’s a california railroad photo of steam in the redwoods with a station called “ELIM” which is one MILE from the end of track…

Lots of possibilities.

Just south of Steven’s Pass on the GN is “Cat House Flats.” In Eastern Montana, off I 90, there is “Bad Route Road.” Someday, I’m going to take that exit.

Those that have visited the Kaskaskia Valley Railway know that we have the mine at Catdump. It wasn’t named because dead cats are thrown there, but what the neighbor’s cats do to some of our bushes. There’s gold in them hills. Well sometimes its yellow and if you find it, you’ll know it.

Then you have the simple names!
In Canada on RT 1 they have sawmill road , spere#2 road.
It,s fun when we go to new places to look at the diff. sighns and other strange things.

Only one step away from a town name as it is - Ralphburg.

There’s already a town named after my family, Wood Heights, Missouri
O.E. Ave - that’s Great Grandfather, Orville Elias
Kent St - that’s Dad.

There’s a town on the way to Athens Georgia that my wife wants to move to. the name is “Between”. She says then when people ask her where she lives, she will answer between, and they will asks between what? I told her if we win the lottery, we can live where ever she wants and she can answer that question with what ever answer she feels is needed. I just won’t admit she is my wife if I’m standing there with her.

I could get in to that - creating bewilderment is kind of fun.

Matthew,

There’s a “Roast Meat Hill Rd.” in Killingworth, CT as well … I don’t know how that came to be. And not too far from there is a road named “Cow Pen Hill Rd.” Even the old timers don’t know where that came from.

Walt

Come too Lancaster County PA You can drive thru " Blue Ball" then “Bird In Hand” which leads to the town of “Intercourse” and then off too “Paradise” …I tell no lies! All are towns just outside of Strasburg.
