Large Scale Central

Fun at the Spa Creek & McKendree

My first day back from Florida running trains at Jerry’s. Jonathan turned up with my ex-Tom Myer Merlin Mayflower:

So we put it on the small loop with some LGB Feldbahn trucks. It looked great and ran well, despite being ancient and having a ch63 FM r/c radio. Just got to figure out how the whistle works.

Then it was Eddie’s turn (Accucraft ‘Countess’ with new nameplates “Edward”. Wife likes to name them so she can tell which we are talkng about.) I got it to replace a ‘Sea Lion’ (about to go on sale) as I wanted something more like a UK tank engine. This 1:20 loco is about 50% bigger than the 1:13.7 Sea Lion.

And finally, a shot of the Merlin with Jerry’s guards van/caboose, an LGB 4107 which seems to be close the 1:20 or 16mm (1:19) scale. It works, mate.
