Large Scale Central

Freedom Central Signing Off (for about 2 weeks)

Headed to the hospital tomorrow morning. Baby Gabe is scheduled for a one way ticket into the world.

I left a heads-up in the FCR Purchases new power thread, including a picture of the two Connies now on FCR property.

I’ll find the time tomorrow to let you know what the stats of our new arrival is.

-J.D.

wish ya’ll the best!

Yup, Good luck…

Congrats on the new family addition

Final post before a take a netbreak…

Up early and at the hospital by 6am. (this was a planned induction due to his estimated size last Friday)

At 1:25pm, we welcomed Baby Gabe into the world at a smaller than expected 9lbs, 13oz. At 21.5in, he is quite the handsome little man.

Sorry about the pic size. my android tablet can’t resize images.

Edit: I updated the picture today.

Right click on the image and select “View Image” to see all of Gabe’s face.

That’s a good looking kid. Do I understand that he is being scouted by the Green Bay Packers?

Welcome baby Gabe! Happy Birthday! Congratulations Daddy and Mommy. I hope all is going well.

Congrats. Always good to have a train buddy.

Congratulations!!!

Editing to say…Hiccupp!

deleded frt. shed…

There is nothing sweeter in the world than holding a newborn whether your own or your grandchild. We will sign up Gabe with my grandboys who all topped 9 plus.

Congratulations mom and dad. I pray we leave Gabe and all his generation a better world than how we found it.

Noel

Okay, so a two-week abstainment turned out to be darned-near impossible.

Gabriel Alexander was discharged from the hospital about 4:45pm Friday evening, only about 28hours old. While having a high bilirubin count, it was deemed not high enough to be worrisome. Another check by a home-health agent on Saturday afternoon confirmed him to be good. Finally, a small heart condition was detected, though its one of those things that can correct itself over the next few months, or he might live with a variant of it for the rest of his life. No danger though at this time, so just one checkup with a pediatric cardiologist to ensure he’s okay and thats the end of his initial delivery issues.

All in all, it was a GREAT experience. After having our last two kids be transported to the NICU less than 24hours after delivery, I had to fight to get my wife to agree to plan the delivery AT the hospital with the NICU. They were courteous, polite, very helpful and (from my point of view) the best part was they completely understood our concerns of why we were at that hospital.

We are of course glad to be home. The other four are chomping to be the first to old their baby brother, but its obviously gonna be a bit before that happens, lol.

The really funny part of all this, which came to me just Sunday night, our five kids, in reverse order:

Gabe

Aiden

Lizzie

Logan

Amelia

Their first initials are the first five letters of our last name, lol!

JD, congrats…

Congrats…

My family members are friends with a large family that had 7 kids, with the first letters of their names in this order:

H

E

A

V

E

N

S and if they continue, suggestions have been made for them to add:

e

n

t

They moved out of state about 5 years ago, and I kind of lost contact, so I don’t know if they’ve added more or not…

Congrats!!! JD!!!

-Kevin.

Thanks everyone.

The two girls are having the hardest time adjusting to the arrival of Aiden. Both are acting out fairly aggressively. Oh well, it happens.

The oldest boy is doing fairly well. He likes being a big brother again. The little guy on the other hand… having just turned two about five hours after Gabe was born, is not having a hard time with it, so much as not quite understanding that he isn’t the baby of the family anymore. Thats kind of our fault as we had willingly baby’ed him thinking he was to be our last… two and two.

The only bad part is now we need another train set.

Congrats JD. He looks more suited to be a football player than a Locomotive engr. Later RJD
