Hi Brian, Yes it does look quite good. Those dwarf Alberta spruces(?) look really nice, and have filled in well. That is a very cool layout.

I am not too smart, so splain to me what 7/8 actually means. I should know this, but I don’t .

Paul

7/8’s is a scale ratio of 7/8’s of an inch = 1 foot or 1:13.7 scale. With G gauge track it works out to two foot narrow gauge (7/8n2).

Nice to see the 7/8th layout up and running again. I cant believe its been four years already. was it in bad shape before the clean up? What does the larger layout look like?

Looks great, I always like seeing the mature plants on a layout. Someday that will be mine…

Not too bad. I have been doing minimal maintenance over the years. The big layout has been reclaimed by mother nature for the most part. That layout will be either rebuilt their with a simpler track plan or in another location but that’s a project for next year.

Thanks Brian, So like 1:24 is half inch right. This is why the train is so big. Is there a lot of 7/8" stuff out there, or do people like you did, build their own trains.

Paul

It’s mostly kit, kit bashed or scratch. Carl Malone just did a run of his plantation coach kits which I picked up one.

The Brits make quite a few kits and Steve King on this side of the pond. Ozark also has some 7/8’s parts.

Accucraft just came out with a 7/8’s steamer but my favorites are the guys who model the Maine two footers (they are huge!), some pics here - http://www.7-8railways.com/?page_id=11

Nice to seeya’ back at it Brian!

Brian, your layout has matured nicely…

You have to show a picture of how the large layout was reclaimed by mother nature. Be neat to see what a few years can do.

Beautiful.

Very nice looking layout…

Nice reclaiming work Brian. Looks to have filled in nicely over the years.
