Yes it’s what Steve calls a teaser. The Supertrain show was good, plenty of train traffic over the mountains. The weather was from so-so on Friday to a full blown winter storm on Saturday. Monday dawned crystal clear, but nippy, with a good breeze. Videos to follow. Longest train filmed 10’000+ ft Eastbound Auto and Intermodal in DPU with four engines - the max grade on Kicking Horse Pass is 2.4%. I haven’t counted the cars, yet; the tonnage was 8843 EGT.
First train without rain last Friday - I don’t want to get wet early in the day.
Nice modeling! Those trees look so realistic. Did you use a liner of some sort for your stream?
Will you listen to those harmonics? Sure don’t get that with sectional rail.

Great weatheing job…
What I like is that when you modelled the power lines you left some sag in the lines. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen in the model railroad magazines and elsewhere an otherwise beautiful modelling job that stretches the lines tight, thus overlooking this one simple little characteristic of power lines.
Ha!
Thank you gentlemen! For those who like the somewhat smaller scales, there are some coming that could pass for Z scale with really nice scenery and amazing climatic effects.
Hi HJ,
Nice videos. I too was at Supertrains, go every year as an annual spring visit to see the children and grandchildren. If you are going next year maybe we can plan to meet and greet.
Ron
Hi Ron,
I don’t go every year, it all depend what’s up, if there’s anything special to see up close - this year the 3-D printers - and how the weather and snow situation is.
Here a few more from that Saturday

That leaves the Supertrain show and all the good stuff on the trip home.
HJ,
Have enjoyed your videos. Well done. But I’ve noticed on youtube as well as videos on here and elsewhere that some HD cameras will cause the trains to become jerky as it get closer to the camera. Your 8941 East does this as it is passing the station, right about the beginning of the platform roof. Then there are other cameras that are smooth no matter how close the train is to the camera. I wonder why that is?
Great vidos. Keep them coming.

Thanks Chester,
It’s a matter of thinking that XYZ is a bargain in this case some SDHC 32GB card that was a bargain. It’s Class 10 200x from Duracell and it will be good enough for my SD camera. I ordered some more of the real stuff since I wasn’t impressed. It drops frames. Live and learn!
The other problem is how YouTube compresses the videos. That’s why the 1020p versions go on VIMEO and the 720p go on YouTube.
FWIW I also have some Transcend cards and they handled HD without a problem.
