Large Scale Central

Four Club Tour

For the past several years the Columbus Garden Railway Society, the Greater Cincinnati Garden Railway Society, the Miami Valley Garden Railway Society and the Indianapolis Garden Railway club have been participating in an annual tour with a different club hosting each year. This year it was the Miami Valley’s turn to host and on Saturday approximately 118 members from the the other clubs traveled to the Dayton areas to visit six different Garden railways in the area. All were nice and featured a lot of interesting bridges, trestles and scratch built structures. The following is a sampling of all six layouts. First stop was The Garden Northern Railroad of Denny and Judy LaMusga

Next stop was the Little River Railroad of Jack and Sharon Wilson

Next stop was the Not My Fault Railroad of Jerry and Lyn Humston

Next stop was the Frog Pond and East Clayton of Tom and Theresa Elliot

Next stop was the Maple Leaf and Fe Line of Sue and Don Wright

And the last stop was the Narrow Minded and Clear Cut Logging Co of Gary and Joni Sines

This event has picked up steam (excuse the pun) every year and next year the club from Indy will be hosting.

I’d say you had a very enjoyable Saturday… Thank you very much for sharing all the piccies.

Thanks for taking all the pictures, some nice looking layouts. That area of Dayton, Columbus, and Cincy have many very nice layouts. Largescale railroading seems to be very popular down in that area to support 3 clubs. Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to tour many of those layouts and some rank right up there with ones you might see on Nat’l Convention Tour Videos.
