The Cornwall Bridge (CT) station is up for sale. This original N.Y. & N.H. RR building has been converted to a home. It’s directly adjacent to an active branch line (Housatonic RR), but doesn’t include much property. Selling in the mid $300’s. If it wouldn’t add over an hour to my commute I’d seriously consider it.
Is this dejavu or have we just had this conversation before?
Same conversation, different building
Go for it, Jon.
Would make a beautiful train shop!

Way too far off the beaten path for any type of retail. Been there, done that, didn’t work.
Besides, it would take me a year to get my house in shape to sell for enough money to buy this one. I’d be trading the lake I boat on for an non-navigable river and the yard where my trains and gardens live for an active track 6 feet from my bedroom :o That and the house is probably less than 1000 S.F. Mines not much bigger until you add the attic storage and teh full nearly-finished basement.
Now, if it comes up again in 10-15 years when I’m ready to retire - who knows.
Here’s a longer shot showing the relationship to the highway bridge (US Rt 7) and the tracks. This was the Metro North Farewell to the FL-9 fan trip in October 2005. [url=lsc.cvsry.com/FL9-8-1024.jpg]
