"Foreign" power on the Norfolk Southern rails

An unusual sight here in the East, UP 5115.
Even more unusual, I was able to locate only one photo of UP 5115 on the net, at RailPictures. It was from 2003.

Ralph, Good catch, Thanks for running the whole train… At first I thought that is was a unit train of auto haulers, an then BAM!! double stacks, and then trailers, Now thats how to haul freight. Did you notice if the Auto haulers were full? The 3 on the front of the string weren’t working to hard, and I Guessed that there would be a couple in the Middle but they never showed up. My Guess is it was a string of empties, unless they were running generally down grade.

Thanks

Dave,
Don’t know if the Auto Racks were full or not. This was a north bound train. There are quite a few auto plants to the South of this location, including BMW.
I see a lot of Auto Racks north bound on this particular line.

Ralph,
I see that occasionally up here at Enola yards …UP, CN and once BNSF power

Rooster,
We had CN power on the CSX line recently, but I missed it.
The RR’s share power regularly, but we don’t get to see it often here. We don’t have the traffic they have in PA, Virginia or even Tennessee.
Both times I was in Chattanooga, I saw BNSF power on Norfolk Southern
It’s always nice to see something a little different !

I get to see everything on NS EXCEPT Heritage Units!!!

There is a truck train that comes up to Harrisburg Terminal from down south that runs with 'Racks on the head end and intermodal following for North Jersey.

Autoracks, double-stacks and piggy-backs are all rated for 60mph on NS (local restrictions not withstanding) as well as a certain set of BN reefers.

mental experiment: modular homes on flatcars… could the argument be made that they were people-containers on flat cars and thus good for 60, or would it be considered an empty passenger train and thus good for 79mph? We got a bunch of these back after Katrina.
