For Tony Walsham

Tony,

Boeing is having trouble figuring out what is causing the LION batteries on their “Dreamliner” to overheat and burst into flame.

In your spare time, can you ring them up and help them out? I am tiring of hearing about their plight on the news.

Thanks,

SteveF

I trust the LiIons I use in my cell phone, cordless drill and trains, but I’m not flying a passenger plane with them

Boeing might be better off calling Mr Izard. He tells us he knows everything there is to know about batteries.

What was it Benny Hill said? Something about not flying in a plane with a name that “sounds like something just fell off”?

I know it’s off topic but would this be the wrong time too ask for a pony ?

Shut up, Rooster!

I’ve always wanted to say that. :stuck_out_tongue:

No, you can't have a pony, or a BB gun, or a new toy train. Now go to your room until supper.

Hmmm they better call in the energizer bunny for this one

MMMMMMMM Battery good for one thing only, Bedroom night stand. Get a Bridgewerks and the 787 will be airborne now.
Of course I Kid cause I’m correct

I was just doing some yearly maintenance on my small fleet of OPERATING locomotives. Whille doing the maintenance, I noted that just about all of my gel cell batteries are over 12 years old…egads…and they still are providing dependable operation, EVERY Saturday morning, during our operating season (Middle of May, to the first of November)…what am I doing wrong…the current price for a 6 volt gel cell seems to be around $15…of course I have lots of room for them. I don’t need the extra room for noise equipment…!!

The more modern and techy the thing is, the more complicated and prone to failure it is. That’s why, Father.
