It’d bad enough that the Georgetown Bridge and Loop as we knew it went bust… now some idiot has to get the sign in the wrong order?
Shucky-darn.
Doesn’t come with the 5-year warranty.
What a shame.
One would think the shipping would cost more than the sign was worth, but, hey, bets are high Marvin is bidding against Jack!
At least the seller is telling us he is having fun selling it!
Those are just cast aluminum letters made at a company I used to work for.
That’s all you are getting, not the background fixture.
There only worth whatever aluminum scrap is going for nowadays.
Sheesh John, those letters - arranged in the correct order - are “priceless”. Oh and here a comment from SWMBO regarding the restrictions: “Which Canadian in his right mind would want those anyway?”
Whoever installed those letters to begin with did a terrible job. Being cast aluminum they are worth about $10 at best at the scrap yard, maybe a few cents more if you cleaned the paint off them.
From the various e-mail … I guess print doesn’t translate voice inflections too well!
Obviously that is NOT the sign for the GB&L … it’s for that other company that gets folks so riled up. I was attempting some sideways humor, and did not mean anyone should feel directly called an idiot.
Chalk it up to another bombed joke … carry on, and hold your fire!

Maybe I should’a gone with asking which one the socket was hidden in, to control the various flashing sequential lights… that might’a worked better?
Matthew-
You got me.
Yes, I thought this was the end for LGB of America.

Would this be a wise way to start collecting LGB stuff…?
I could submit a bid, and have them sent to Dave Goodson’s place. He could check them out for problems, and send them on to me after he installs some sort of device in them to make them accept the latest LGB controls…
Why are the letters wobbly?
looks like someone was out there kicking them.
Fred Mills said:Yes, buy the 'set,' then break it up into component pieces, setting the beginning bid at an amount you paid for the whole set in the first place. That way you will truly carry the LGB large scale railroading tradition forward.
Would this be a wise way to start collecting LGB stuff.....?
Happy RRing,
Jerry
Do you think Dave would help ?
Padre, on such a project, we’d all help!
HJ,
I figured you’d be bidding to get them for a dart board.
