Large Scale Central

For sale or trade at show

Hello all,

I’m new to the club and just feeling my way through the different areas. Great site by the way! I have several items that I would be interested in selling or swapping. I am debating whether or not to attend this years show, but this may decide it for me. I have: a USA Trains PA1/PB1 NIB, an Aristo Canadian Pacific SD45 NIB that I bough at last years show - they are both too big to run on my door-top loop in the restaurant, an Aristo Santa Fe FA1 NIB and an Aristo Santa Fe Caboose NIB. I am on the NY/Canada border and only run NYC, CN and CP, bought these at a good price just to have as displays.

I am looking for (preferably Aristo) trains in those road names especially CN & CP cabooses as well as a smaller Aristo loco (GP30ish in size) in CSX, and all things NYC related - lanterns, signs, tools, insulators etc…

I am just learning this site and do not see a way to attach photos, I’m sure it’s the Freight Shed, I’m just not yet sure how it works!. If anyone wants to see photos email me at [email protected] and I’ll send pics.

Thanks for looking,

Tim

Hi Tim

You will like it here and pretty soon you will know your way around. Posting pics is easy once you get it the first time. Great bunch of guys here and a ton of knowledge to be had from these members.

BTW you are the fellow that has to put up with that Ottawa bunch every so often when they come down to pick up hobby purchases at your post office aren’t you?

Thanks Randy, nice to meet you!

Yes, I am the guy. Great bunch of guys from the Great White North up there! Only problem is - although I’m a sponge soaking up knowledge from these guys, if there are more than one or two of them I can’t possibly absorb all the information that’s exchanged! I try to engage them in small numbers.

All kidding aside I have learned most of what I know about G Scale and a lot about railroading in general from the “Ottawa Gang”. Fortunately for me and other newcomers to the hobby, the OVGRS and I assume other clubs are loaded with friendly guys that want to share their knowledge and experiences.

I got involved mostly for my restaurant, but enjoy it very much and am glad I did.

Tim

If you are ever in the Ogdensburg, NY area, I recommend you to stop in for lunch or dinner at the Freight House Restaurant. Tim’s a fine host, the food is great, the prices very reasonable, and there are large scale trains running over head.

Doug, Stu, and I will be stopping there for supper next Saturday on our way home from the ECLSTS.

Of course they may be a few railcars for us to pick up there as well.

Ya at least 2 big boxes of them or did I send them to Canada? I’m just kidding, you guys have a fun time next weekend at the show and of course enjoy all those train cars.

Chuck

Geee are you saying you can only take Fred in small doses? hehehehehehe
