for once i feel like a chequebook-modeler. today i got the twenty newqida flatcars/lowside gondolas, that i ordered from holland in august 2011. if i remember well, they were delivered to a contactaddress in germany in march or april. in may they were sent by container to paraguay. the normal transport time lengthened a bit by low water on the la plata river, so they stayed about three and a half months in buenos aires. after mere two weeks in customs they reached me within half a week. counting everything in, price, transports and customs they did cost me about 14.- $ per car. now i got enough bashfodder for the rest of my life. (i’m not as hasty as Vic or Mick…)
You forgot about Nick, He Luvs your skills long time
nope, didn’t forget about you, but you are no highspeed-modeler, like the two mentioned above.
on the contrary, i specially thought about you - when you told about the black locos you bought in series.
hehehe, today is the jackpot of the month! not only came the flatcars, but the last salesman of the day made me an offer, i could not decline… scale 1:24 for $18 a piece.
Well, I guess the rest of us shouldn’t complain if our Priority Mail packages take an extra day to arrive.
Nice looking trucks.

Ralph Berg said:noooo! i simply abused the fact, that my wife got a bad concience, because the vacations she booked for herself and the girls did cost more than planned. - hence the pickups... but your mention of christmas gave me a cunning idea. for this chrismas i'll order myself something from europe. that will never be here on time. so i will have to be allowed to buy something locally... (wicked laughter seeping through the wires)

Looking forward to seeing these come to new life.

and my fingers are already itching to do something with them (to them…)
but there are so many other things to do.
apart from buying toys for the christmas business and decorating the store i have to make a figure for wetbacking into california…
and, to my surprise, the local press came and asked me to mount the modular layout again, to shoot fotos for the cover of next month’s newsbuletin.
not to mention, that it would be a lot more savyer to first complete the track on my main layout, instead of bashing cars.
but itching fingers is a serious case of must do.
