Thanks tac,

RhB live steam is completely out of my league and would be very impractical on our point to point layout with only one (planned) turntable on the line at Preda.

BTW I did get some email and posts on RhB/Swiss Trains forum mentioning that it would be perfect for our layout. My standard answer: sorry, wrong era! Wrong era? You mean they never ran any tourist trains? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

'kay.

At least it shows that over here in gloony, dank and rainy East Anglia we think of you over there in G*d’s own country.

Yes they did and still do, but for that they have two Moguls and two Connies.
“Rätia” (#1) was the very first engine on the line and is still in excursion service 125+ years later, #11 “Heidi” is close to the end of a complete overhaul. We have a LGB "Heidi"on the layout, this engine was actually still on switching duty in the early '70s .

The Connies are # 107 and 108, they were kept on as reserve engines during and after the electrification period, today they are still in excursion service. Biggest attraction? The two of them doubleheading a largish steam special. We have a Brawa #108 on the layout.
No, I haven’t figured out how to turn the beast at Thusis. Poor planning.
