For Bruce Chandler, re: your stone bridge

I took a look at your website today, and I must say, very nice!

You said that you removed the stone bridge because it just didn’t hold up well. What do you think was the problem, and if you were to do another “stone” bridge again, how would you do it differently?

Steve,
Thanks!

Between the hose dragging over it, squirrels nibbling it, and acorns hitting it, it started showing pink too often. I had to do all too frequent touch-ups. If I were going to do another one in Styrofoam, I’d make sure that it was out of the way. Something that crosses a path is just inviting abuse. Of course now that I’ve since worked with stone, I’d be real tempted to build one in real stone.
