Bruce and all,

My birds story is that there’s a Prius in town with the license plate BLK PHBE, or something like that–because the car is black. I wondered what that meant until in the park near where the car lives I spotted a Black Phoebe!

We also got Bluebirds, Finches and other birds, which is pretty amazing since we are a town with mostly homes. Of course, we got the Pacific, which brings to mind another boring anecdote–about Great Blue Herons. We never used to see them and now they are everywhere, including in palm trees, where they nest, sqwak and s***. Me and DW got a nice surprise as we walked under one of them trees the other day.

Did I mention we got Mallards too?
