That was cool. I guess we’ll never see the rotaries run again will we.

Jon, check out Sandia Software’s D&RG Adventure Kit. Has a great video clip- of the rotaries in action.

I have at least one VHS tape of a rotary pushed by two K’s going up to Toltec pass. Neat stuff indeed.

Wow! Thanks Kevin. Good stuff!

Don’t they know you would have done a better job? If you have the passion, it’s just more than a job.

Kevin great stuff reminds me of living in Denver in Arvada, and I ran a potato chip route out into Evergreen, Conifer, and Central City Idaho Springs. I remember Jim Bennemen and Paula Woodward, and most of all the news casters from there. My daughter met Paula Woodward at one time, and that was one of the highlights of her life!! On a funny note I and my youngest daughter were at a “Stones” concert at the old “mile high” stadium, and we sat next to a couple of newcasters from the “other station” didn’t recognize until concert was almost over! Keep thinking I know these guys from somewhere, and finally asked em!! Funny how somebody can be in your living room everyday, and then in person you don’t recognize!! Anyways thanks for the video which was cool too!! Regal

The story mentioned that they dont run the steamies during the worst drought periods, what do they do then? Do they have any dismals to pull the trains?

That was cool Thanks

They done good. Stan knows his way around the cab of a locomotive. He's worked as a fireman and conductor. (His dad's currently the GM at the Roaring Camp & Big Trees, and spent a number of years in Chama, Durango, and Skagway.)

Vic, they have some center-cab diesels similar to the EBT’s M-7 (in fact, they bought them from the EBT) which they use in the dry times.

Glad y’all enjoyed it.
