Large Scale Central

Five Ore tippers and a flat

You possibly saw my thread about identifying these little 4-wheel tipper wagons.

The kits were made by Trail Creek and the owner (Richard F) passed on the info that they are based on clay wagons from a brick works in Georgia. (Lots more photos in that thread.)

They are very nice little cars that I really enjoyed making, but they are taking up a lot of room on my shelves, and therefore I would like to find a good home for them.

As you can see, they look great in an industrial setting. They also work in a 7/8ths scale environment - this is an Emma with Richard’s cars.

I’d like to get back what I paid for them, so $175 for all 6 cars seems reasonable? (Message me if you want to talk about just buying one.)

Sold.

Hi Pete, what plan did you use for those tippers?

Wes, they were kits. A defunct Company called Trail Creek, started by Richard Finlayson, made them 20+ years ago. There are a few more details in this thread:

The kits were delightful - the wood was a hardwood and very well cut. The parts just fell into place.

Richard is still around - I have communicated with him on Facebook via the 7/8ths group, and he has a train of about 7 or 8 tippers. He might still have plans - would you like me to ask?
