First YouTube video, In-ko-pah Railroad

I just finished uploading my first video to YouTube. It’s a short clip of a train passing through a canyon and crossing a culvert. Let me know what you think… I wasn’t sure what settings to use or anything like that.

That is awesome! Great photography.

Great video Ray, what kind of camera are you using??? The Regal

That was shot with my little Canon SD880-IS digital camera.

One thing I’ve found out about shooting video is that, the smaller the camera, the more you need a tripod. With a pocket sized camera like this, the slightest movement is exaggerated on video. Some earlier attempts, I thought I was holding it rock-steady, until I played it back. Then it looked like it was shot by a hyperactive toddler.

Nice start, can someone lend Ray a camera car so we can get the trains eye view of the whole layout?

That would be very cool, indeed. Ralph

Thanks! I do intend to post some onboard video soon. I shot one this evening that I was hoping to post, then found a problem with it halfway through. I’ll shoot it again tomorrow morning.
