First stone bridge

Finally finished the stone bridge for Muot, same construction method as the tunnel portals.

A lot more bridges/viaducts to come.

Hans its looking really nice. So I guess you weren’t serious about just sitting on your behind then.

Being serious? Wouldn’t that spoil all the fun?

First-Class work!

Very nice!

That is a great looking bridge. I like that you put in a key stone but you forgot to put in a stone where the date of completion would be still, very nice.

Thank you Gentlemen!

I’ll have to check next year if that bridge has a date of completion. Could always engrave one on the laser and mark it with the date of renovation. My bridge is classified as a historical structure.

My bridges get classed as Hysterical structures .

A small detail on the construction method. To get the arch nice and even - as it looks on the drawing - I use the laser and then laminate the pieces with Weldbond.

Since the laser grid is not quite large enough to get away with one piece per arch - and in this case I can’t “cheat” like I often do to get max dimensions - the pieces are off-set. Alternating the layers makes alignment easy and provides all the stability required.

The laser is really handy for all kinds of work, including cutting Styrofoam and styrene sheets. Some “experts” told me that both are a real bit…, which is true, it does take extra patience to experiment with the settings to get the right results. To get repeatable results one notes down the settings for that job.

Great looking bridge Hans. Im thinking of incorporating more stone structures into my next layout. Ill have to keep this idea in the back of my head (shut up Rooster)
