Snow finally showed up, after many false alarms. You would think I would have dug out the shovels from the barn, but had not. Fired up the snowblower this afternoon. I just shovel the deck and out to the RR. May try the rotary on the RR tomorrow. SOrta tired. Got 9", then it compacted down to 8 on the ruler.
Looks like winter has arrived in Nebraska Jerry. Will wait for Rotary pics tomorrow.
I guess I better get the garage and shed cleaned out and move the plow to a place where I can get it on if needed. I did shut down the pond on Thursday, it was time. Pond is now set in Winter mode with pump running but stream shut off. I must have cleaned 10 gallons of leaves out of the pond. Fish enjoyed seeing daylight again. 
Yea…I think. Better you that me Jerry… said the shelfish man from the Bay State…or should that be selfish.
We should be well into winter by now but still running above avg temps. … 60 deg on Monday should be highs of 45 instead. The snow plow and shovels are positioned anyway 'cause I know it’ll get here eventually

Today I prepared the railroad for snow. Put together the plow train and took it out for a test run. The first test consist was my SD-45 coupled to one om my RS-3’s powered by my new sound/battery car. The SD-45 doesn’t match well with the RS-3’s speed and the SD-45 won’t couple to the sound car, so I swapped the SD for a second RS-3.
Out on the line I found several places in the new construction where clearance was too tight for the plow. Also found a switch that the plow would split every time. Fixed the clearance issues and put a screw in the switch to hold it closed.
Once the motive power and track issues were all resolved I ran the plow train out and around the wye several times with no problems.
We are having the same mild weather as Larry. No snow in the immediate forecast.
With Christmas on the way im ready for some snow. We have been lucky since our first snowstorm in oct. Its been mild. 20’s at night and 50 during the day. I have to rebuild a new plow for the RR. My Aristo broke so Im going to use the plow and some other parts to make something. Track is ready for the snow and all the buildings are back out.
