Large Scale Central

First Run

Well everyone has left after 3 days of running trains! Boy did it get quiet real fast !!! I had a total of 12 people show up to either run trains or just view the railroad and watch others run trains. I had 1 visitor from Texas, who traveled 2000 miles. The chatters will kno who he is. I had 5 come from Pahrump, Nevada. who camped in the driveway. Members of the LVGRS I had 2 come from Las Vegas, Nevada. and camped in the driveway. Members of the LVGRS I had 2 from Southwestern Nevada. Who stayed in a Carson City, Members of the LVGRS And 2 came from Garnerville, Nevada. Members of the NNGRS group out of Reno/Carson City areas. The New section ran good but for one glitch in one of my new #6 switches… The old section, once the track was cleared of leaves and other debri, ran good also. Credit must be given to Loyd Moore, of TX, who took a pair of gloves and pruning clippers, and cleaned the track and trimmed some trees to clear the trains. After finding a few bad spots, that were easy to fix, most trains ran without a problem. Dennis of Pahrump,NV, Also did alot of cleaning of the track & made some ajustments at leveling areas. Once I got a temp. bridge across the inner canyon, Dennis ran the first test train into the canyon, and it was good. I had over 1000 feet of main line being used by as many as 5 trains. Lou Banning of Pahrunp, NV, Ran his live steamer around the whole railroad, funny, but it did not like the old part of the railroad, but ran fine on the new loop. On Sunday morning, the 3 boys had their trains running at 7:30 AM. Everyone had plenty of track time. We BBQed for Lunch and dinner, ran trains till dark. I have no yard lites.
