Large Scale Central

First run of the new year!

We have been unseasonably warm here. It’s also rained more than I can remember in a long time. Well, the rains finally stopped. The sun popped out and I figured what the heck. I should have been doing more productive things, but this was way more fun. I was going to run a coal train today, but too many errands got in the way. Maybe tomorrow.

Anyway, mixed freight with 2 SD40-2’s and a GP40.

looks great!

Looking good!

Wow cool

One suggestion, you might want to get a coupler height gauge and set your couplers all to the same height. It will prevent problems down the road.

Looking good. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Any day you get to run a train is a god day. I spent yesterday prepping the plow train which included changing out the sound line on an RS-3 to my new connector system. It didn’t venture very far outside - maybe today for a “dry” run.

Thanks guys!! Much appreciated!

Lol @ cuz. Nice clip!!

David, that was actually on my to-do list this winter. I was going to convert over to kadee’s. Just haven’t gotten around to it. Oddly enough, the couplers don’t seperate. It’s a mix of AML, Aristo, USA Trains, and Kadee couplers. lol. I’ll get them lined out…eventually. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Nice run, Matt… Sure you don’t need more power for those hills??? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Andy, I’m going to use that as an excuse to buy more engines. lol. My wife doesn’t need to know the gp40 will pull them all on its own. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Looks great. My only suggestion would be to cut out the fade-in, face-out at the end of each scene and subsitiute dissolves, being as it’s the same train and the same run, essentially. Nice anges and back lighting! the low angles add a lot of the look of prototypical weight to the equipment.

Thanks Andrew. Those are actually dissolves from microsoft’s movie maker. The only fade in and out I do is for volume.

Still working on getting the angles right. I really should stop using my cell phone to video and use the camera. lol.

Here is a winter run in Florida. I braved the overcast skies and 60ºF temps to bring you this video… (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Winter run does not count without the white stuff.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

What do you mean? It’s winter down here too you know. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-money-mouth.gif)

Sorry Joe, Just does not count. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

White stuff? So get yourself a bag of that fiber fill and have at it. Hey, its “white stuff”

David,

Gee, I was thinking grits! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I get a kick out of what happens down in FL when the temps drop below 70. People are bundled up like Nanook of the North…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I have heard that they’ve gotten snow as far south as Daytona Beach. I don’t know how true that is, but I have been stuck in a blizzard in South Georgia.
