Large Scale Central

First revenue run for the 1 spot

Fired up and tested by the CCR crew, Mike the engineer and Jerry the fireman, 1 spot approaches Stumptown. This small supply freight is usually pulled by old Heisler #2. The crew can’t believe how fast and smooth the 2-8-2T runs. She’s hauling firewood for the shacks, coal for the smithy’s forge, fuel oil for the geared locos, and fresh produce and meat for the camps.

Same shot as she approaches Stumptown.

Leaving the west end of Stumptown.

Crossing the tall curved trestle, she approaches the whistle stop at South Possum.

Rounding the curve into South Possum.

Out on the double track trestle near Big Rhubarb.

Passing the yard at Big Rhubarb and crossing the Flat Rock dry wash, she’s approaching Camp 1 to unload.

Very Nice pictures John! Thanks for posting them!

John, nice run, train and layout…

Love that engine, that was/is some great bashing.
This is a great story line of pictures explaining the
trains progress through the landscape.

Very nice John. I love that lokey and its great consist of cars.

Love it John. The new engine is perfect on your layout.

You have one nice looking layout there. Your back story and photos are an inspiration. I really like that double track trestle and the 2-8-2T. Is it something you built?
Nice job.

Tod,
The loco was built here: http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/viewtopic.php?id=17373
I built the trestles, the “Hanrahan” reefer and the waycar.

The layout is still a work in progress. Basically, a double track “roundy-round” with a large storage yard on the backside.

Sweet!

That is one sharp loco. I knew the reefer was special too when I noticed the double doors on it and the waycar was also a custom job.
I think all our layouts are a work in progress I know mine is always being improved apon which is part of the allure to the hobby.
Looking good. Happy RRing.
Todd
