Large Scale Central

First Attempt

This is my first attempt at building rolling stock. The first car is out of a 1/8 pvc sign I found. I scribed the sides to look like wood. I did not do a building log, because I did not think it would not turn out.http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/smokey/_forumfiles/RS1.jpghttp://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/smokey/_forumfiles/RS2.jpgThe second car is out of wood. The inter frame is 1/8 plywood covered with 1/8 scribed redwood, again no building log. When I start to get better I will do a building log.

The rivets are made out of escutcheon pins.

The next car is going to be an EBT steel boxcar.

They look purty good to me…

Looks like you more than accomplished what you set out to do. They look like they’ll work as rolling stock, seem to have all the necessary features to make them recognizable. Make sure the trucks are lubed, and the wheels are properly spaced and enjoy.
Oh, and did I say nice job Eddie, keep on building, you’re doing great

Nice work!

Very nice work. Patience and persistence shows.

They look great!

You're already better.................... Ralph

You’ve done a fine job. They look pretty damn good to me!

Thanks Guys. Now I’m trying to figure out the jig to build the grab irons for the EBT I am trying to build. And figure out how you guys find all the things you find to build all of your rolling stock.

Eddie, did you get my mail with the pics of the jig?

If you look just at the eyes, you can see the heritage. I think Andy was stationed in that part of the World, many years ago.

 further south…

LIBERTY, LIBERTY, LIBERTY - For the information of ALL HANDS, LIBERTY HAS BEEN GRANTED TO ALL HANDS NOT ON THE DUTY ROSTER OR SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINE. So press em out, truss em up, shine them till they glow - Liberty will be granted at 1600.

No clue what they call it in the Air Force.
