Large Scale Central

First attempt at building

Randy,
Great looking building.

That sure turned out nice! What did you use for the smokestack guy wires? I like that touch.

Bruce, smoke stack is 1/2" CPVC water pipe and guy wires are thin copper wire.

That looks great Randy. The little details like the door hinges, lock bat and the smoke stack with guys really finish it off nicely.

Randy,

I also like the door hinges. Would you mind enlightening us how you made them, as they do not look purchased. Maybe a close up pic would do.

Thanks,

Bob C.

Yep, just used some 15 gauge hardwood flooring staples. Cut them up, made U shapes to make small staples to press into the doors and jambs. The some L shapes for the body of the hinge. Looks a little crude, but that’s the look I wanted, and they should weather up nicely after a year or two. Backwoods RR’s couldn’t or wouldn’t spent money on fancy store bought hardware.

Another masterpiece… Fantastic!!!

Very nice work Randy!

Excellant modeling Randy.

Randy, what is your smoke stack make from? I wished I had put a small one on my large barn.
